In which sports/activities did you engage either as a spectator or participant?

Memories throughout the year.

Here are some of the highlights of our senior year based on your comments in the Zoom sessions and other inputs.

  • Cornell won the NCAA title in Lake Placid as the only (and still) undefeated (29-0) team in NCAA history.
  • Established meaningful relationships and entered new social circles as classmates worked on productions such as Pajama Game and Peter Pan; with Octagon.

Did you know Cornell had a women’s golf team? I played for the Big Red. In 1967 or 1968. We traveled with our coach to Penn State to represent Cornell at the first Eastern Women’s Intercollegiate Golf Championship. Perhaps someone will know our coach’s name.

Here’s the news: I was thrilled to win the first Women’s Eastern Collegiate Golf Championship for Cornell. I wonder if there is anything in the archives about this.

About three years ago, I met members of the Columbia University women’s golf team and their coach at Hilton Head, SC. Their coach thanked me for being one of the “trail blazers for women’s golf”–paving the way for their women to play competitively. She was sad to tell me, however, that Cornell no longer had a women’s team. So sad….
